Position Summary
GroundSpark is seeking a full-time Development & Administrative Assistant. The Development & Administrative Assistant will work with the Office Manager to provide top-notch reception and customer service and ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the GroundSpark front office. The Development & Administrative Assistant will assist the Development & Administrative Manager and other development staff with coordinating and implementing the organization’s development needs. This position will also provide administrative support to the Executive Director.
Primary Administrative Responsibilities:
• Assist with in-person and phone reception;
• Assist with shipping and sales;
• Assist with filing;
• Complete data entry and mailing tasks as needed;
• Help to maintain office inventory;
• Help to maintain office organization and cleanliness;
• Run short office errands as needed;
• Assist staff with hiring, including posting job announcements, sorting resumes and communicating with applicants;
• Assist staff with scheduling;
• Assist staff as needed with document generation;
• Provide administrative support to the Executive Director;
• Additional projects and duties as assigned by management.
Primary Development Responsibilities:
• Process donations and generate thank you letters for donors;
• Coordinate donor stewardship with board members;
• Assist with preparation and submission of letters of intent, grant proposals, grant reports and other communications to foundation program officers;
• Enter foundation and donor notes into the database;
• Maintain proper foundation files;
• Assist with researching new foundation opportunities;
• Assist with fundraising events.

• Demonstrated commitment to progressive social justice issues and have comfort with LGBT issues and people.
• Literacy with OSX is very important, as well as proficiency with Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range is $28,000-$32,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits including three weeks paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision coverage for staff and their dependents (eligibility for spouses or domestic partners), eligibility for 403 (b) plan.

Position Summary
GroundSpark is seeking a Communications and Marketing Associate. The Associate will assist the Director of Communications and Marketing in growing the audiences for our work and communicating with donors, educators, activists and the public, and ensuring that our films, the issues they address, and our staff’s expertise are widely showcased in progressive and mainstream media, on the web, and in outlets in relevant professional fields.
This position will provide support in the following areas:
• Collateral production (print and electronic)
• Online marketing and communications
• Project management
• Writing and proofreading
• Administrative support
The Communications Associate will provide assistance in the conception, management and production of a full range of communications—including printed materials, direct mail campaigns, web content, email communications, annual reports, media releases, marketing campaigns, fundraising appeals, etc. The ideal candidate is talented, motivated, and tech-savvy, and can help us develop an online presence through social networking sites, blogging, and other new media. This position will assist in increasing the reach of GroundSpark, the groundspark.org website, and in developing and executing online marketing campaigns, SEO, SEM, and social media programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist with project management of marketing and communications programs and campaigns.
• Assist with the coordination of multiple projects (including email blasts, newsletters, brochures, marketing campaigns)
• Provide administrative support.
• Proofread institutional communications.
• Implement GroundSpark’s email campaigns and alerts - using modular templates, assist in developing content and writing HTML.
• Create and maintain profiles for GroundSpark’s presence on social networking sites.
• Assist with the coordination of the production of print collateral (brochures, newsletter, mailings), including light graphic design.
• Maintain communications and marketing records.
• Maintain marketing department filing system in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
• Perform data-entry tasks as needed by maintaining the database up to date.
• Research information on new media opportunities and initiatives.
• Help maintain groundspark.org website and aid in content creation and writing.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well, both independently and on a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, attention to detail, and excellent writing skills.
• Strong commitment to the mission and values of GroundSpark.
• Knowledge of web based technology, print production, media terminology and procedures very desirable.
• Experience with (or willingness to learn about) creating and managing email blasts using web-based service (i.e., Vertical Response).
• Experienced with MS Office required; InDesign, PhotoShop, and HTML experience a big plus. General understanding of HTML and the Internet desired, however, this position is not a Web development role.
• Interest in viral marketing and social media.
• Analytical thinker, thorough and organized.
• Formal proofreading and editing skills strongly desired.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new concepts and software applications quickly.
• Knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of marketing preferred.
• Hold strong interest in online communications including such areas as Internet outreach, organizing, and social networking.
Salary & Benefits:
